While Sony is a little quiet about their next handheld console, GPD, on the other hand, has come up with a PSP-looking handheld, the GPD Win 4. While this next-gen GPD console is being anticipated by most, we finally have details regarding the specs it will include. And it seems to give even the mighty Steam Deck a challenge.
GPD Win 4 vs Steam Deck
GPD Win 4 appears like Sony’s PSP, and the specs are looking pretty promising too. But how does it compare to the Steam Deck? Let’s compare them head-on to help you make a good purchasing decision.
Design
As mentioned earlier, GPD Win 4 does appear like the infamous PSP but with a twist of “screen-slide” design. The handheld itself appears to have a reasonable size with a 6-inch IPS display that runs at 1920 by 1080p resolution along with 60 hertz of refresh rate. Underneath it, we get to see a qwerty keypad making a comeback from the previous GPD Win console. Even with all that, the console appears smaller compared to the beefy Steam Deck.

Specifications
In these renders, GPD Win 4 is estimated to have a Ryzen 7 6800U chip to power it up coupled with Radeon 680M iGPU that is based on the RDNA 2 GPU Architecture. Other than that, Win 4 is expected to have up to 32GB of DDR5 6400MHz RAM and 2TB of NVMe SSD storage. Compared to this, Steam Deck runs with a custom Zen 2 APU from AMD coupled with an RDNA 2 GPU. We also have up to 16GB of DDR5 memory in this thing, with 512GB of maximum internal storage. So you get the idea of how the GPD Win 4 outcompetes Steam Deck spec-wise.
