Watching movies or TV shows on a humongous TV may sound immersive but expensive as well. Projectors, in this instance, have the best solution to offer in terms of value and price.
VANKYO Leisure 495W is a solid Full HD projector that is feature-packed and offers plenty of goodies for the price you pay. But does it deliver what it promises?
Today, we will take you through our experience with this projector so that you can make an informed purchase decision.
What’s in the Box?
The projector comes well packaged and protected with thick styrofoam shells. Underneath it, we have some user manuals, cotton buds, a remote controller, AV cable, power, and an HDMI cable, along with the projector itself.
With that out of the way, let’s take a closer look at the VANKYO Leisure projector.
Design
Design-wise, the VANKYO Leisure projector appears compact and minimal. The small form factor does look super portable, enabling you to set it up with lesser effort. On the front, we found the lens, followed by a vent cut-out and subtle Vankyo logo. The back, however, houses a wide fleet of buttons and connectivity options. Starting with the ports, there is an HDMI, 2 USB ports, an AV jack, and a headphone jack.
Above the ports, you will find plenty of buttons, including an OK and Return Button, some navigation, and the power button. Just below all of that, there is a keystone correction knob for smooth adjustability. The left of the projector has a focus adjustment knob, a power port, and an openable vent, while the right side is vacant.
Specs and Performance
VANKYO Leisure is a 1080p cinema projector with bright image quality and a good overall contrast ratio. While watching movies and series with it, we really appreciated the details and punchy colors. It is quite rare to see projectors having this level of visual fidelity in the budget price range.
On top of that, the Dolby Audio speakers add more to the immersive experience, given how good it sounds. We also want to mention the plain and simple interface of this projector that had everything in place, including the casting features, multimedia, and settings.
The screencast feature was also quite awesome as we got to cast the contents of our laptop and smartphone like a breeze! Additional perks, such as the included remote, were also really helpful for distant operation, while the keystone correction feature and autofocus dial let us precisely tweak the projector according to our preference.
Our Verdict
Everything considered the VANKYO Leisure 495W is indeed a fantastic projector for a home cinema experience. It has plenty of perks that are often seen in high-end projection devices, minus the heavy price tag. So, if you are considering a projector to build your own home theater, then be sure to check this one out!
