Spacetop AR Laptop How Does it Work

Technology has come a long way, more than we imagined. Among them, one of the coolest and most impressive inventions was Virtual Reality. Then came Augmented Reality and now, we have a laptop using AR technology. Spacetop laptop just popped up whole over the internet, showcasing a pretty unique design. This is the world’s first laptop that is built using Augmented Reality glasses. Let’s have a closer look at it.

What Exactly is Spacetop?

This isn’t like all the other conventional laptops in terms of design or build quality. Spacetop is a laptop that has no screen. Instead, it uses a pair of AR glasses, which is tethered to your laptop through hardwire. While putting it on, you get to see a 100-inch virtual screen surrounding your eyes. It’s a really big display, and compared to other conventional laptops, this screen will definitely impress you. Not only that, but you will also be able to open multiple windows and resize them as you wish. So yes, if you were looking for a laptop with a big screen that is also super portable, then Spectop just made your wish come true.

But does this AR glass actually suitable to wear for hours, while at work, or in general usage? Well, this is a custom-built Nreal glass, which is specially designed for the Spacetop. It definitely did a pretty great job bringing a clear vision of a large virtual screen in front of our eyes. But as many reviewers said, some people might find it really uncomfortable, especially when the glasses are on for hours and hours.

Specs

Moving on to the internal specification, Spectop still has a lot of work to do. Under the hood, it comes with a power of Snapdragon 865 processor. Apart from that, this laptop also has 8 gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of storage, which is not too impressive compared to current gen laptops. Also, the AR headset delivers 1080p resolution per eye, delivering 72 hertz of refresh rate and the picture quality is quite impressive. As for the connectivity, it does support Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.1 wireless connection. Additionally, the laptop also offers a fingerprint reader along with USB-C ports and a DisplayPort 1.4 as well, which definitely makes it convenient. And yes, the laptop is really lightweight, weighing around 3.3 pounds only.

Our Takeaway

So it’s safe to say that it’s a premium device. If it is not for the AR attribute, the device is still equipped with outdated internal hardware. In this case, grabbing the early version at this demanding price might not be actually worth it. But then again, who knows, we might be able to witness some game-changing perks from Spacetop when it will actually hit the shelves fully. So that was all about the Spacetop laptop.
